Sixmilebridge Youth Club has been very successful in the Youth Work Ireland variety competitions in recent years, particularly in the Showdance category.

After taking the Munster title in Killarney, we claimed All-Ireland success in the showdance competition in NUI Maynooth on a wonderful day out that nobody from Sixmilebridge who was present will forget. The victorious girls were Tara Maxwell, Lauren Kelly, Stephanie Griffin, Stephanie Sage, Aoife Murray and Samantha Perini, who won with the Can-Can. Also this year, Sarah Wood (accompanied by Stephen O'Dea on guitar) reached the All-Ireland final in Solo Singing, but unfortunately she missed out on the title.

A year later we won the Munster title in showdance for a second year running and qualified again for the All-Ireland finals in NUI Maynooth. Sadly the girls were denied in their bid to retain the All-Ireland but their efforts were certainly to be applauded. The girls danced to 'Black and Gold' and the club was represented by Lauren Kelly, Katie Liddy, Samantha Perini, Tara Maxwell, Stephanie Griffin, Stephanie Sage, Aoife Murray and Nicole Kelly.

We won the Munster showdance title for a third year in a row and later added the All-Ireland crown at the All-Ireland finals in Mary Immaculate College Limerick. The winning dance was 'Jai Ho' and the prize was claimed by Katie Liddy, Kate O'Gorman, Nicole Kelly, Samantha Perini, Aoife Murray and Ashley Mullins.

Once again Sixmilebridge swept the board in the showdance category. After claiming another Munster title in Kilfenora, the girls performed to 'River Deep Mountain High' at the All-Ireland finals in Mary Immaculate College Limerick and retained their All-Ireland crown. Representing the club this year were Stephanie Griffin, Aoife Murray, Nicole Kelly, Kate O'Gorman, Melanie Wilmot, Olivia Phelan, Niamh Whyte and Jade Murphy. Congratulations must also go to choreographers Lauren Kelly and Edel Murphy.
